Town of Salem 2 is a continuation of the social deduction game released in 2013, realized in the form of a social strategy game. The described title was developed by the authors of the prototype, i.e. BlankMediaGames studio.

Town of Salem 2 takes us on a journey to the eponymous town known from the original. After the Sabbath took over, there was confusion in Salem. During the game we play the role of a resident of the city, who belongs to one of the three factions fighting for influence, and our task is to survive and lead to the victory of our side of the conflict.

In Town of Salem 2, we see the action from a bird’s eye view. The Sabbath, the neutral faction, and the Apocalypse have other goals that their members must accomplish in order to achieve their group’s victory. While under the cover of night, the participants of the fun roam the city and perform their tasks, such as eliminating people on opposite sides of the barricade, during the day, meetings are held, during which residents debate the state of the town and accuse each other of crimes committed. Although officially the motivation of each of them is to cleanse Salem of the suspicious element, in practice there is no shortage of liars among them, striving solely for their own goals.

In addition to factions, during the game we are assigned one of the roles that affects our skills, and hence – the style of play. Among them, we will find both roles familiar from the first installment of the series, as well as a number of completely new ones; depending on the function assigned to us, we can, among other things, burn corpses, block the abilities of other players, go on a killing spree, pretend to be innocent, and even eliminate other players during the day.

Town of Salem 2 has gotten rid of its “browser” pedigree, so its graphic setting is clearly better than it was in the original. Nevertheless, the whole is still sustained in a colorful, cartoon-like style pleasing to the eye.
