However, the Ukrainian studio decided to bend a little the real look of the zone that inspires both horror and fascination, enriching its territory with warring factions, murderous mutants and deadly anomalies. The roots of these changes can be found in the high – profile novel by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky picnic on the edge of the road, as well as in its unofficial filming-Andrei Tarkovsky’s film Stalker.

In the game we play a hero named Skif. After another explosion occurred in the Chernobyl reactor in 2006, a powerful source of energy appeared in the center of the zone. The protagonist decides to cross the border zone and as a lone stalker to solve the mystery of the mysterious power. How this expedition affects him depends on what we do. The story told here has a non-linear structure, and the difficult choices we make during the game have an impact on its course and completion.
