Lovecraft Tales is a PC adventure game with RPG and survival elements, inspired by the work of horror master Howard Phillips Lovecraft. For the creation of the title is responsible for the native development studio Crystalvision, headed by Sewer Hrehorowicz-co-creator of the warmly received platformer OddPlanet from 2013.

Lovecraft Tales PC Download takes us to Vermont, New England – an area well known to fans of Lovecraft’s work – and includes themes drawn from the master’s stories, related to the so-called mythology of Cthulhu. A characteristic feature of the game, however, is the lack of a specific plot goal. During the game, we are engaged in the performance of subsequent tasks, combining into one, coherent whole found in the course of the game clues and fragmentary notes. The order of mission completion and the extent to which we will delve into the gameplay depends only on us, and the game itself can also be completed by learning little or almost nothing about the history. On the other hand, the need to make mutually exclusive choices prevents us from discovering all the nuances of the story during a single session with the game.

Lovecraft Tales PC Download combines the features of classic point-and-click adventures with some RPG elements and survival aspects. The action of the game is set in a vast, open world, the journey of which can take the hero even a few days. For this reason, during the gameplay, our protagonist must eat and drink, find a safe haven for the night, and at the same time not to jeopardize his readability, exposed to various dark forces from this world.

During the game, we mainly explore, complete various story tasks and talk with independent characters. Interestingly, their attitude to the hero depends on the sum of the choices made by us in the course of the gameplay, so individual NPCs can be extremely helpful, but they can also harm us. There are also sequences in the game, as a result of which our protagonist can say goodbye to life – and, depending on the chosen degree of difficulty of the gameplay, death can be permanent or not.
