Darkest Dungeon 2 is a continuation of the warmly received RPG by gamers with clearly outlined elements from the roguelike genre, released in 2016. Like the first part of the series, the production was developed by The Independent Team Red Hook Studios.

The theme of Darkest Dungeon 2 PC Download is Apocalypse. The team of heroes, over whom we take control, sees a chance for salvation in a mountain looming on the horizon, but the road to it is long, bumpy and full of difficulties. Whether the protagonists manage to reach it, as well as in what composition and mental state they will do it, depends on our actions. The story is narrated by Wayne June.

The gameplay in Darkest Dungeon 2 is based on the scheme developed for the first installment of the series, although the creators did not miss to make a number of changes. During the game, we take control of four heroes selected from a larger pool. Each character represents a different class, and also has an individual set of skills and strengths and weaknesses. Among them there was a place for both the professions known from the previous part of the series, and for a completely new one.

As it happened before, during the game we need to monitor the mental condition of our subcommittees. The individual characteristics of each character, as well as their behavior, determine how they are perceived by the rest of the team. Good relations between heroes result in positive side effects, while the worse the protagonists “get along” with each other, the worse their cooperation goes. On the other hand, our heroes react to frightening experiences with stress.

We can try to lower its level in taverns, where the team rests after the hardships of traveling through other regions, playing cards or drinking alcohol. If we neglect this aspect of the gameplay, and the stress level of a given character reaches its maximum value, this will result in a kind of breakdown of the hero and reset his relationships with others. However, a battle-hardened player can try to use this mechanic to their advantage, deliberately driving the hero to the brink of madness in order to start building new relationships.

The graphics of Darkest Dungeon 2 PC Download have been kept in the gloomy style known from the prototype. The whole was realized in three dimensions, giving up the caricature proportions of the characters.
