Children of Morta PC Download is designed in a retro style, production combining elements of roguelike RPG Chapter and narrative principle. The name was funded with the support of Kickstarter users, and its creation is responsible for the independent Studio Dead Mage, previously known mainly as the third hacker Hack’n’slash Garshasp.

The eponymous mort is a mountain that has been protected for generations by members of the Bergson family living on its slope. As a result of the mysterious force deep beneath the mountain, the source of life was less polluted, and all living creatures in the vicinity turned into bloodthirsty monsters. Playing as the next family members, players are tasked with finding the seeds of life and using them to stop the spreading chaos.
During the game, we control individual members of the Bergson family, each using several different special skills and different fighting styles. The fun comes down to procedurally generated levels, collecting items, and fighting the monsters you encounter. Despite the fact that the gameplay mechanics are somewhat based on the classic game roguelike hack-and-slash, the name boasts a rich storyline, enriched by many side streams.
During the game, the authors often force us to make decisions that affect the further course of events, so that we can form our own, unique story. The game has not done, of course, the character development system and inventory, which in accordance with the latest standards, we can also change using the system of crafts. An important role in the game performs alchemy, allowing our heroes to prepare various potions of different spectrum.
Under the hull, Children of Morta uses the classic pixel-artową style, reminiscent of productions at the turn of the 80’s and 90’s of the XX century. However, the authors have tried to get modern lighting effects and a lot of artistry, so the locations in the game have acquired a beautiful, nostalgic look.
