SnowRunner: a MudRunner Game is a sequel to Spintires: MudRunner, which is an advanced off-road vehicle simulator. It was developed by Studio Saber Interactive and released by Focus Home Interactive.

As was the case in the previous installment of the series, SnowRunner: a MudRunner Game features the drivers of various machines, led by trucks – their list includes vehicles from manufacturers such as Pacific and Navistar. During the course of the play, we traverse more than fifteen vast open-air locations; some of them are up to four times the size of the previous Mudrunner. By navigating with a map and compass, we drive on driverless roads and carry out paid orders involving, among other things, the transport of raw materials.

The available land varies in terms of the underlying terrain – we can prepare for the encounter of mud, water and even snow and ice; the latter can be found in the series ‘ debut Alaska. The matter is further complicated by the fact that the ground on which we move is deformed over time, so it is not difficult here for an accident like falling off a cliff or being buried in mud.

At such moments, various “rescue wheels”come to the fore. Individual vehicles are susceptible to mechanical modifications, including a useful winch; the authors also allow us to call a helicopter for help. With the money gained as we progress, we can also purchase parts that improve the performance of individual cars and increase their capabilities (for example, components that allow driving in deep water). The makers also allow us to change the appearance of the machines.

Game modes

SnowRunner: a MudRunner Game features an extended tutorial in which the authors introduce novices to the complex rules of the game. In addition, we can play both alone and in cooperative mode for up to four people.

Compared to the previous version of SnowRunner: a MudRunner Game, the game boasts a higher quality of graphics. The authors made an effort to keep the surroundings detailed, as did the models of the vehicles; the latter were enriched with full details of the cockpit. It also leaned over the user interface, making it more user friendly.
