MewGenics is a black humor production developed by studio Team Meat, known for m.in. from the platformer Super Meat Boy. The action of the game takes place in the home of an elderly and very lonely lady, whose main love is cats. The player’s task is to breed these animals, taking care of their needs, breeding and exhibiting them in competitions. The expenditure involved is not small, so it is necessary to manage the budget properly.

The entire gameplay of MewGenics PC Download is based on complex mechanisms simulating the behavior and genetics of animals. This is used not only in the planning of reproduction (e.g. by passing on to the offspring the characteristics and diseases of parents), but also in the daily care of our wards. For example, if a cat is attacked while eating, it can become traumatized and begin to associate food with pain. As a result, he will starve to death soon after. However, a cat caught in the wild can escape from our house at the first opportunity.

Team meat is known for gloomy ideas and dark humor, and both of these elements can also be found in MewGenics PC Download. Among the possible diseases are, for example, narcolepsy or feline AIDS. If we run out of money to treat the wards, then as a last resort we can pack the cats into cryogenic chambers, where they will wait for our financial situation to improve. The least careful players may even be arrested by the local animal control police and their owners.

Equally unusual is the visual setting of the MewGenics. The authors put on black and white and fully two-dimensional graphics. All cats are made up of many parts, and the engine allocates them in a way that makes it virtually impossible to see two identical pets.
