Beacon Pines is an original adventure game, enriched with elements taken from the metroidvania genre. The production was developed by The Independent American studio Hiding Spot, and its creation was possible, among other things, thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.

Beacon Pines PC Download takes us on a journey to the eponymous mountain town, which is inhabited by anthropomorphic animals. Their quiet life began to get very complicated after the closure of the old fertilizer factory. As if that wasn’t enough, strange things began to happen in the city. While earthquakes may not be anything special, mysterious disappearances, monsters lurking in the shadows and puddles glowing in the dark can be disturbing. The fear of the inhabitants is amplified by the appearance in the area of mysterious people dressed in overalls.

The main character of the game is Luka, whose childhood is slowly coming to an end. During his last real-life vacation, the protagonist not only makes new acquaintances and cultivates relationships with existing friends, but also tries to unravel the secrets of the town. Luce is helped by Rolo, who gets him out of trouble as often as he gets him into it, as well as a friend named Beck, whose family moved to Beacon Pines from the big city.

In Beacon Pines PC Download, the game takes place inside a magical book, and during the game we play both its main character – Luke – and its reader. The adventure takes us through the various nooks and crannies of Beacon Pines. Observing the action from a bird’s eye view, we explore locations, have conversations with encountered characters, solve puzzles and perform tasks, as well as acquire a variety of items.

Among the latter, the so-called amulets of words lead the way, which serve us to fill the empty spaces in the content of the book. In this way, we decide what Luka will say to a particular character, what the weather in the town will be at a given moment, or even who the protagonist will encounter on his way. Amulets also allow us to influence the past; by going back to specific events and changing their course, we determine the future, and as a result – we independently shape the course of the story told in the game. As with metroidvans, backtracking is often necessary to push the story forward.
